Hello Art Family!Today’s art class is more than “Pumpkins in October” and turkeys at Thanksgiving. I feel today’s instructional focus must offer transferable learning experiences and mental processes needed to thrive. So, as a middle school teacher, it goes without saying that my goals include ideas that extend beyond the classroom—interpersonal relationships, consensus building, collaboration and responsibility. I, without reservation, believe that some children learn, communicate and manipulate abstract ideas and interact with peers better in the art room because it touches both their hearts and minds. |
